Old stuff from college.
I was looking for a file on my computer and I stumbled upon the following set of 3 images that I did, I believe, in an Illustration class back in college. It’s been like four or five years (more even?) since I did it but I think it still holds up rather well, probably because I followed my reference very closely. I figured I’d throw it on here since I don’t have a lot of colored stuff anyway.
The next two pictures, photo references used and comments after the break.
To be honest, I don’t even remember exactly what the assignment was. I’m pretty sure it had something to do with doing 3 different kinds of illustrations for a fake diner article in a magazine but I simply cannot remember the details. I did take the reference myself and I do know that it’s pencil scanned straight into Photoshop where I went with a very flat look with a few gradients for coloring but that’s about as much as I can remember.
Here’s the reference I used for the first two pictures (I used little reference for the 3rd):
In any case, what I was looking for when I found these were scans of sample comic book pages I had done for the NY Comic Con of this year. I didn’t find them so it stands to reason that I never actually scanned them. I will do that next week hopefully and I’ll post them here soon afterwards.
