Lima and Lines
Here’s another piece using a picture of the always lovely Adriana Lima as reference.
Whenever I do an airbrush piece from reference, I always try to own it on some way so that it’s not just a straight up copy (which is boring to me). Sometimes I’ll change the hair a bit or maybe I’ll add a tattoo or maybe I’ll change the outfit entirely. When I finished this piece, I had no idea what to add to it so, once again, I flipped through my sketchbook and found that I sometimes I add a sort of outline to things to better separate stuff on the page. The rest, as they say, is history.
The likeness isn’t quite there but I’m liking how this turned out just because it’s quite unlike anything I’ve done before. I’m really having fun with those halftones as well.
