Sketchbook Update – Late Edition
When I say that this is a “Late Edition,” I don’t mean that this is coming in late (because it’s still within my “one set of scans a month” rule), I mean to say that this year’s sketchbook as a whole is coming in late. It’s almost the end of June and I should be about halfway done but I only have about 1/3 of it filled in. So I either need to spend more time on my sketchbook or I just need to draw more in general.
On the upside, this set (the last few pages in particular) mark the first time where I’ve looked at my stuff and thought “you know, I think my own personal style is finally starting to crystallize.” That’s not to say that it isn’t derivative or that it’s unique compared to everything else out there, but it’s something that I can call my own and it has a look that’s closest to what I want my stuff to ultimately look like.
Maybe there isn’t a noticeably difference between this and previous stuff but I definitely feel a difference.
