I don’t like to redraw stuff I already did before, I always prefer to focus on new works but when the dA “Draw This Again” contest came up, I felt it was a good time as any to see how much I’ve improved.
There isn’t a lot of my old stuff that merit a do-over, I think. That’s not to say they’re perfect but I imagine the improvements would be minor and, ultimately, not worth the effort I’d put into it (except for Mario vs. Bowser, that one would be a billion times better if I redid it. Maybe someday…). So after thinking about what to pick, I went for last year’s Halloween piece which is possibly the most apathetic piece I’ve done in recent memory. It’s kinda cheating almost because even back done I could’ve done a better job than what I ultimately posted here. I tried to keep to basics in there and avoided straying too far away from what the original piece was. It’s been less than a year since the original and, despite what I said earlier, I’m glad to see that the improvements are more than noticeable.
But, long story short and about a month early, here it is: Halloween 2012. Draw This Again comparison piece below.
