Thundercats re-imagining looking solid.

Thundercats re-imagining looking solid.

I’ll be the first to admit that the Thundercats doesn’t hold a lot of nostalgic value for me. I remember watching it religiously not out of pure love for the series but mostly because watching cartoons all day is just what you do when you’re a kid. There were memorable things about it (Lion-O’s trials [...]

More animated Berserk is a great thing.

Kentaro Miura’s still running Berserk is among the best mangas to come out of Japan and the anime adaptation that first got me into it ended in a massive cliffhanger. It didn’t take long for me to realize that the Berserk TV series was but a giant commercial for the manga but it was still [...]

Paul Robertson Awesomeness

Paul Robertson Awesomeness

More so than the source material or the Anamanaguchi soundtrack or the old school beat ‘em up influence, it’s Paul Robertson’s sprite work that made getting “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game” a no-brainer. The exclusion of online play is deplorable but look at those sprites! It’s not “Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006: The Game” but it’s [...]

Another oldie: Optimus Prime

Another oldie: Optimus Prime

This is another old piece that I uploaded to the site early on but one I never dedicated an actual post to. It’s a piece that holds up rather well despite being many years old though why I gave dear old Prime such a tiny, tiny head still escapes me. The background, or lack thereof, is [...]

The New York Post is reporting that new Beavis and Butt-head episodes are headed to MTV in the near future. These news come at an interesting time because, over the last few weeks, I’ve been religiously watching a lot of the original episodes via Netflix. I absolutely love the show but, and this has become more apparent as [...]

Beavis and Butthead

Gotta love these guys. Straight from pencils into Painter and then tweaked in Photoshop. Not much to say aside from that, other than Butthead’s resemblance to Bush Jr. being almost too eerie. Um… That’s it.

“Animation” page levels up!

Get the latest Flash Player to see this player. [Javascript required to view Flash movie, please turn it on and refresh this page] It’s been long overdue but I finally got around to updating my Animation page. I added a few pencil tests, descriptions for every video, threw in a couple of divs to make [...]

A “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths” review.

A

DC’s line of direct-to-DVD animated features have been of varying quality so far. I think the biggest issue these movies have is the 70 minute time limit which leaves little room for character exploration and makes a lot of these seem like quick “get in, get out” ordeals. I think Wonder Woman succeeded because it [...]
